At the conclusion of the grand finale of Jewel of the Philippines held at UP GT Toyota Auditorium, Achelle Joy Medrano was crowned as the winner.
At the same event,
a) Sarah Jireh Asido was crowned as Jewel of the Philippines United Continents 2017;
b) Kirsten Einna Lister from was crowned as Jewel of the Philippines Emerald Queen 2017 (Arts Ambassadress) and was titled Miss Global International Philippines;
c) Karen Grace Atienza was crowned as Jewel of the Philippines Sapphire Queen 2017 (Education Ambassadress) and was titled Miss Tourism World Philippines; and
d) Mary Rose Cajayon from was crowned as Jewel of the Philippines Ruby Queen 2017 (Culture Ambassadress) and was titled Miss Global Charity Queen Philippines.
The winners are expected to represent Philippines in several international competitions being namely, Global International, Miss Tourism World, Miss Global Charity Queen, and Miss World Peace.
Achelle Joy Medrano is 17 years of age and currently pursuing her studies from St. Mary's Catholic High School, Fujairah. She was also voted as the 'Darling of the Press' during the press presentation held on 20th September 2017.
Twenty candidates participated in the competition and the remaining finalists were Jennifer Daguro, Maria Gianna Margarita Llanes, Czarina Totanes, Andrea Delgado, Kristine Somera, Michelle Carcido, Mary Grace Tautuan, Cyrhill Renn Querejero, Kayla Fajardo, Gina Faye Belmonte, Rhejeam Julienne Duran, Ana Rose Tee, Kimberly Joy Asetre, Geraldine Dorepes and Trixia Anne Flores.
Jewel of the Philippines pageant was hosted by former Miss Earth 2008 Karla Paula Henry and directed by pageant director, producer and beauty queen maker John Dela Vega. The pageant advocates the promotion of Philippines Culture and the arts through education. It is the only “cultural pageant” in the country.
