Leren Mae Bautista to conquer the ‘world’?

04 Mar 2021 | Priya Bhardwaj

If rumours are to be believed, Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2019 Leren Mae Bautista is considering to give pageantry another go and might be seen at Miss World Philippines this year. If she, indeed, decides to take this plunge, Leren will be one of the strongest candidates at the competition.

With the age limit at the national pageants, this might be the last try for to the beauty queen to win a major crown for her country. Leren Mae Bautista hails from Laguna and believes she is a warrior as she is an Iskin Aesthetic Lifestyle Ambassadress. She finished high school at Trace College and graduated at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba with a degree in Marketing Management.

Not new to the pageantry, Leren holds the titles of Miss Los Banos 2013, Binibining Laguna 2014, Mutya ng Pilipinas - Asia Pacific International 2015, and Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015.

She was also crowned Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2019 at the conclusion of Binibining Pilipinas 2019 held on 9th June 2019. At Miss Globe 2019, Leren impressed everyone with her performance winning the second runner-up position. Leren’s prior experience in the pageantry will be of advantage for the beauty queen if she begins her new journey.

As a kid, Leren had often been bullied for her looks and her skin color. Her experience with this has led her to make anti-bullying her advocacy as a beauty queen. “I grew up hearing things that really hurt my feelings: poste, kapre, negra,” she recalls. These taunts would lead her to think if there was something wrong with her or if she was not beautiful enough. Over the years, Leren has advocated for the same as this issue hits close to heart.

If Leren decides to participate in the Miss World Philippines competition, she will definitely be a strong competition for the other ladies and might as well be an ideal representative of Philippines at Miss World this year.
