27-year-old Nguyen Thi Loan has been appointed as Miss Universe Vietnam 2017. She succeeds Le Hang, Miss Universe Vietnam 2016, and will now represent Vietnam in Miss Universe 2017 to be held next month in Las Vegas.
Nguyen Thi Loan, a Vietnamese model, was born in the city of Thai Binh and stands tall at 175 cm. She is also the National Director of Miss International Vietnam. She has been a titleholder of several other beauty pageants and has represented Vietnam in international pageants before.
She placed in Top 5 in Miss Universe Vietnam 2015 contest, which was won by Pham Thi Huong. Prior to that, she was also crowned Miss World Vietnam 2014 and represented Vietnam in Miss World 2014, where she was placed in Top 25. Later, she was also appointed Miss Grand international Vietnam 2016 and represented Vietnam in Miss Grand International 2016 reaching the Top 20 stage at the finale.
Since Miss Universe Vietnam pageant was not held this year so far, like last year, the winner was appointed by the organisation from amongst the previous contestants considering their experience and readiness for Miss Universe 2017. Even last year, her name was doing the rounds for being appointed as Miss Universe Vietnam 2016, when Le Hang was eventually appointed.
