A country that produces some of the world’s most successful beauty queens had recently introduced a brand new national pageant, the Magandang Filipinas, where 30 delegates will compete for opportunities to represent Philippines at international platforms such as, Magandang Filipinas International, Miss Elite, Miss Multiverse, Miss Tourism Queen International and Miss Model of the World.

Magandang Filipinas is an homage to the Philippines’ beauty not only as a country of breathtaking and scenic natural wonders but also as the home of some of the world’s most beautiful women. A chance for empowered women from all over the country to advocated for the issues close to their hearts and represent themselves at a new stage.

The organization had also introduced Binibining Pilipinas 2018 Eva Psychee Patalinjugas their national director to head the organization and uplift women to confidently represent themselves. In a recent turn of events, the former Binibini has released an official statement regarding her resignation from the position, a few hours ago.

She took to her social media to share, “As publicized months ago, I have been offered the position as National Director of MAGANDANG FILIPINAS by its owner and chairman, SHADRACH LOPEZ CIRSOSTOMO, also known as “LOPEZ AKING” on Facebook. Considering that is the Philippines’ newest national beauty pageant, I accepted the position as I thought that this will be an avenue for me to promote great causes and advance women empowerment.”

The pageant’s activities went smoothly until now, including some of the pre-pageant competitions. The coronation night for Magandang Filipinas was initially scheduled for 26 August 2021 in Bohol. However, this was cancelled due to the surge of Covid-19 cases and this cancelation had happened without Eva’s knowledge as National Director. Mr. Crisostomo belatedly informed her that the coronation will instead be held either in Baguio or Cebu on a later date.

Addressing the same, the National Peace Ambassadress mentioned, “Though I was the National Director for the pageant, I was not aware of any of the events organizaed by Mr. Crisostomo or his associates after the candidate screening. Potential sponsers had been asking me for the prganization’s legal documents so that they can have our sponsorship requests approved by their respective company’s board. However, despite my earnest efforts to coordinate and open clear channels of communication with Mr. Crisostomo and his organization, my team and I were constantly rebuffed and were kept in the dark.”

She further added, “Their failure to heed our reasonable requests made me question the legal existence of Magandang Filipinas and the entire organization of Mr. Crisostomo.” Mr. Crisostomo’s failure to be transparent with Eva as the pageant’s National Director, has led her to decide to let go of her engagement with Magandang Filipinas and its organization.

“My professional and personal differences with Mr. Crisostomo and his organization are irreconcilable, leaving me with no choice but to resign. With this resignation, I wish to inform the public that I am immediately severing any ties with Magandang Filipinas, OPC. I am withdrawing my endorsement of the pageant and cutting off any official connection with the pageant and its organization, “Eva concluded.

The Magandang Filipinas organization is yet to comment on the situation but we are expecting a statement from them soon as well as the appointment for a new National Director. The organization is on a look out for a queen who embodies beauty, grace, and unceasing compassion for others. It is a chance for empowered women from all over the country to advocate for the issues close to their hearts and represent themselves at a new stage.
