22 Dec 2020 | Priya Bhardwaj

Maliyah Lorenzo, a 17-year-old junior in high school, became the youngest woman to win World’s Top Model at the Top Model Competition held in Orlando, Florida on 6th December 2020. She competed against over 103 girls from the ages of 4 to 66 and won the overall international title.

Maliyah also holds the title of Teen Miss Florida Earth USA 2020. She has also received multiple awards for Student of the Month and Student of the Year and has also received an award for Best Dressed and Evening Gown Walk by the Miss Universe Organization. She was also the honorary People’s Choice Award recipient in 2019.

As Teen Miss Florida Earth USA 2020, Lorenzo’s platform is ‘Everyday is Earth Day, and Serve to Conserve’. “Items that are thrown away today won’t decompose for hundreds of years. Knowledge is powerful and education is contagious! Understanding what we’re doing to our ecosystem and how to prevent it is the key”, she believes.

Maliyah proactively participates in activities that promote environmental concerns and educate the public to show the different ways she reuses and recycles. She has weekly blitzes about fun ways to help save the environment.

Currently, Maliyah attends the Laurel Springs Academy and plans to attend the Florida Gulf Coast University with a major in Psychology. She has six siblings and being the second oldest, she has developed a lot of patience and responsibilities with having a big family.

Maliyah has been volunteering with multiple organizations since she was four years old. She is an ambassador for 4ocean and hosts beach clean-ups along the Gulf Coast. She has represented the state of Ohio, her hometown state and currently is honored to be representing Florida. She will definitely be a strong force to be reckoned with in the pageantry in the coming years.
