With Miss Universe Philippines separating from Binibining Pilipinas this year, the first edition of Miss Universe Philippines i.e. Miss Universe Philippines 2020 will be hosted in the next year. For the national pageant, now the wishlists have grown ever bigger because the former beauty queens can also apply to the newly branded pageant.

For Miss Universe Philippines 2020, Maria Gigante’s name has popped up under the wish list of the contestants to compete for the title. The 25-year-old Maria brims with an almost faultless confidence. The diva took a pause from modelling and hosting to focus on her studies. She is graduate in Philosophy from University of San Carlos.

Not new to the pageantry, Maria Gigante was a delegate of Binibining Pilipinas 2016 where she performed very confidently and was considered as a strong contender for the title. Maria unfortunately failed to place in the top 6 but was appreciated for her performance all throughout. Maria was second runner up for the title of Miss Binibining Cebu Charity 2017 where she impressed the judging panel with her performance and immediate but impressive answer. She was an advocate of how people should be comfortable in their skin as they are.

She will bring a strong fighting spirit to the competition and take on what people perceive as the new direction for the Miss Universe Organization is heading to with its current and future winners. According to the diva, the pageantry has changed her perspective towards life and it’s more about affecting a change in the society. She is passionate about charities and making a social impact on the world.

The diva is not new to the pageantry world as her journey towards the crown began when she was only 13 years old after watching a local pageant. Zuleyka Riveria is her idol and with her confidence and looks she can be one of the strongest contenders for the title.
