Miss Venezuela 2014 Mariana Jimenez finally speaks up on her presence at the Miss Universe 2015 pageant. Mariana confirmed her participation at the Miss Universe pageant in a statement released to El Venezolano News. “I understand the reasons for Mexico and Panama for not joining but for me, I will represent Venezuela and the Latinos (in Miss Universe)”, said Mariana. There were certain clouds of speculation over the participation of Venezuela at the Miss Universe pageant, after the whole Donald Trump drama. Even the President of Miss Venezuela organisation, Osmel Sousa said that he cannot say whether or not Venezuela will be participating in Miss Universe, and that he is waiting for word from his superiors.
Venezuela’s participation is a step towards not letting any political issue come in the way of beauty pageants. Also this move by Venezuela is a positive sign for the Miss Universe Organisation which has been facing withdrawal from various sources ever since the famous Trump incident happened.
