It was a long four days for 26 young women from across the state. For one of those women, the end of the week was only the beginning of a year of service to her state. And that woman, business owner, college senior, former government intern and community servant is McKenna Collins, Miss Madison Capital City, who shall now bear the crown and title of Miss Wisconsin 2017.

She will now compete in the Miss America 2018 pageant to be held in Atlantic City on September 10th 2017. The event will be broadcast by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). Miss America 2017 Savvy Shields from Arkansas will officially crown her successor.
Collins is a 2014 Waunakee High School graduate and will be a senior at UW-Madison this fall, where she is studying political science.
Collins describes that crowning moment as "kind of a blur," "surreal" and "almost out-of-body." It was her first time competing for the Miss Wisconsin title, and she was happy to win the title of Miss Wisconsin 2017.
On Saturday night, she walked away with the largest prize in the Miss America Organization's state-level pageant, a $10,000 cash scholarship. She is all set to represent Wisconsin in Miss America 2018 and let’s see if she will be able to bring home the crown or not.
