Miss South Africa is an annual pageant that selects representative for the Miss World and Miss Universe international pageant. Miss South Africa 2015 has officially commenced with its pageantry activities, conducting events and organizing photoshoot. Keeping aside the fuss and excitement of the preliminary events, let’s take a sneak peek into the lives of these contestants. Let us introduce you to one of the finalists, Busi Mahlangu.
The 23 years old, Busi Mahalunga hailing from Kwa-Mhlanga, Kwa-Ndebele, in Mpumalanga, is studying economics from the University of South Africa. Busi has always been enthusiastic about economic development, especially in the sector of women and youth. Busi, carrying the hopes of her province as their only representative, said, “I have grown in confidence since the start of the competition and am determined to do well.”

The 23 years old Kwa-Mhlanga beauty always wanted to see a remarkable change in her country. Busi says that the reason she took up economics is because she believes, economic development is one of the prominent factors that determine the well-being of a country. “For me, to be in that field meant accomplishing my goal of giving back to my country through my career.” she says. Busi Mahalunga is one of the twelve fortunate contestants to make it to the list of finalists, and is positive about winning the prestigious title of Miss South Africa 2015. She shares her reason behind entering the pageant and says, “I decided to enter Miss South Africa 2015 because of the passion I have for people and the pride that I have for my community, my province and my nation. The social issues which I am passionate about will be definitely women and youth development. I feel it’s very important for women and youth to find their gap and their niche in society and to give back within that.”
When asked about her chances of winning the title this year, Busi says, “I believe I could be the next Miss South Africa because I have such a passion for women and the youth and I feel that it coincides with the mandate of a Miss South Africa.”
