Miss Universe Germany 2016 – Meet the Finalists

Miss Universe Germany is here with its 2016 edition and the pageant is creating some news because of the list of dazzling contestants competing this year. Fifteen beauties across Germany have been shortlisted for the pageant. The fifteen finalists will be narrowed down to 10, who will then compete in the race to win the coveted crown of Miss Universe Germany 2016 and the right to represent Germany at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant.

The Top 10 finalists of Miss Universe Germany 2016 will be selected by special public voting via Facebook and by the judges. Three beauties will be aadvanced to the Top 10 finalists on the basis of Facebook voting and seven contestants will be shortlisted by the judges. The Miss Universe Germany 2016 is going to witness some familiar faces this year as well - Sheryna van der Koelen represented Guadeloupe at Miss World 2013 pageant in Bali, Indonesia; and Johanna Acs represented Germany at Miss Supranational 2015 in Poland.

1952-1961 has been the honeymoon period for Germany at the Miss Universe pageant. In 1952 Renate Hoy the first German delegate at Miss Universe won fourth Runner Up where as Gerti Daub won fourth Runner-Up & Miss Photogenic at the 1957 edition. The country won back to back Third Runner Up crown in 1954 -1955. Marina Orschel won the First Runner Up at Miss Universe 1956. Marlene Schmidt won the Miss Universe title in the year 1961.

The reigning Miss Universe Germany is Sarah Lorraine Riek. At the conclusion of the finale of Miss Universe Germany 2016, Sarah Lorraine Riek will crown her successor.
