Last year, Hildur Maria Leifsdottir’s participation at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant marked Iceland’s comeback at the pageant. Iceland has never won a Miss Universe crown, and the highest placement for the country was in the year 1962 under the representation of Anna Geirsdóttir, wherein she finished as first runner-up. This year, the Miss Universe Iceland Organisation is taking serious steps to make an impactful presence at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant.
