The 34 shortlisted delegates of Miss Universe Singapore went through the final auditions on August 21’ 2016 held at the Singapore Press Holdings' auditorium. Last year’s strong contender of Miss Universe Singapore, Poojaa Gill is back this year to clinch the crown.

25 years Gill is a full-time model and has had a plenty of experience in the beauty pageants. She has even appeared on Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2 in the year 2014. "I feel really happy to be in the top 15. But then again, I don't want to speak too soon. I came very close to winning last year's MUS, so of course I was really heartbroken (when I didn't win). But I'm very excited to see what might happen this year and hopefully, things will be better for me."

During the round one of the audition, the 34 applicants had to introduce and share details about themselves. After round one, 25 applicants were narrowed down to proceed towards the round two. The 25 candidates then had to show their rampwalk skills in a swimsuit and answer a question asked by one of the five judges.

This year, the Miss Universe Singapore is back with new presenter – Singapore Turf Club, and new imaging partner Canon Singapore on board. The winner of Miss Universe Singapore 2016 gets $10,000 cash, a Canon camera worth $1,000, a year's wellness services from Beaute Hub worth $24,000 and a year's gym membership worth $9,000 from BodyBurn Fitness Singapore.
