Miss Costa Rica 2016 pageant which is scheduled to be held on August 19’ 2016 has announced its top 10 finalists who will be vying to be called as Costa Rica at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant. Many young contestants registered for the coveted pageant, out of which 50 aspirants were shortlisted to compete further. These 50 contestants further competed through various preliminary rounds and the 10 who made it to the final cut are –

The ten finalists are divided into the group of three. The first group includes – 21 years old Fabiola Calvo who is a nursing student and is a resident of San Ramón; 23 years old Andrea Castro who is a Business Administration student; and 25 years old Elena Correa who is a medical student.
The second group includes – 19 years old Alejandra González hailing from Palmares and working in animation; 27 years old Maria Amalia Matamoros, a resident of Naranjo and a student of Business Management; 27 years old Hellen Mena who is a dental student; and 24 years old Karen Robles hailing from San Jose and is a student of administration and Human Resource management.
The third and the last group includes – 25 years old Hellen Morales who is an interior designer; 27 years old English Teacher Carolina Rodríguez; and 21 years old Maricris Rodríguez who is a law student.
The ten contestants will now compete their way through series of Preliminary Competitions to clinch the coveted title of Miss Costa Rica 2016. The finale of Miss Costa Rica 2016 will be televised live on Teletica. The contestants will be judged on the basis of different rounds – Personality Round, Swimsuit Round, Evening Gown Round and Question and Answer Round.
