Valeria Villanueva was crowned Mexicana Internacional 2023 (Miss Universe Mexico 2023) at the finale of the Mexicana Universal 2023 pageant held on 2nd September 2023 at Centro de Convenciones y Exposiciones. Valeria will now prepare to represent Mexico at Miss International 2024.
Valeria Villanueva is a Mexican actress, model and beauty queen from Jalipa, Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico. The 24-year-old beauty queen stands 5 feet 8 inches tall. Not new to the pageantry, Valeria represented Colima at Miss Teen Universe Mexico 2015 in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico and won the title.
As Colima’s representative at Mexicana Universal 2023, Valeria worked on a project titled ‘In case of emergency, break the glass’ with the coordination of Universal Mexican Colima and the Colima Secretary of Education.
“This project was born from the heart and by a promise that I made to myself after being diagnosed with anxiety disorder and depression; I swore to myself that once I had overcome this, I would contribute something to society with my life experience and especially to young people, since I knew that I had it at 13 years of age. Being made of glass is having the ability to deconstruct yourself to build yourself again and stronger... vulnerability is for the brave”, she quoted.
Miss International 2024, the 62nd edition of Miss International, will be held next year in Japan where Miss International 2023 will crown her successor at the end of the event finale. The 61st edition of Miss International will be held at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan on 26th October 2023.
