Mexicana Universal 2018 entered into its second week as we saw the announcement of the Top 16 in its first week. The rest of the 16 candidates who did not make the cut were eliminated from the competition.

Mexicana Universal is the first edition of the national pageant which will crown its national representative to Miss Universe 2018. But before that, the contestants have to go through 8 weeks of gruelling activities, training and preparation in the road to the national crown.

As the competition entered its second week, out of the 16 remaining contestants 10 contestants were saved. Two were sentenced but were saved by the public votes and four were sentenced. In a surprising turn of events, Mexicana Universal Sinaloa 2017 Maryely Leal was one of the sentenced candidates as well.
