Mexicana Universal 2020 will be the 3rd edition of the Mexicana Universal pageant. Thirty-two candidates from all over the Mexican Republic will compete for the national title. Sofía Aragón of Jalisco will crown her successor at end of the event. The winner will represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2020 pageant.

Paulina Ruiz Hernández who hails from Tuxtla Gutiérrez was crowned Mexicana Universal Chiapas 2019 in December 2019 and will be representing the city of Chiapas at Mexicana Universal 2020.

Paulina is 21-years-old and stands 175cm tall and is a student of Political Science and Public Administration. She describes herself has responsible, committed and dedicated towards anything she decides to do. She is very strong and optimistic towards winning the title and representing Mexico at Miss Universe 2020 competition.

Paulina is very close to her home city and is fully committed to represent it at its best during the competition of Mexicana Universal 2020. She wants to use the platform to spread the culture, colour, handicrafts and biodiversity in Chiapas and spread the same of her state across the country.

Paulina is very excited and happy to be able to earn her chance to represent her state at an international platform and hopes to win the title. She is a quick learner and has already started to prepare for the competition. She has thanked her family and friends who have helped her stay motivated and uplifted her spirits when ever she felt low throughout the entire competition.

The diva has shared her experience about the beauty pageants and working with the Mexicana Universal Chiapas organization and various other Chiapas companies, “Collaborating with Chiapas companies makes me proud, because I am proud to see that Chiapas have this thirst for entrepreneurship and can make themselves known in the state and throughout the country. Chiapas has too much wealth to expose in the interior of Mexico and to the world, and of course, it is better that it is driven by its own people work in our lands making the best of each product they make.”

Paulina has started to prepare herself for the main event finale and explains that she is focusing on perfecting her on-stage walk, confidence, body angles and postures on stage. She is also preparing hard for communication and interview skills for the question and answer round. She explains that she is polishing her skills and she feel more and more confident and grows as a person every day.  Paulina says that she feels ready and charged for giving her best battle in the national competition and bring the crown to her state.

Expressing her excitement for the national pageant, Paulina stated, ‘It is an arduous work, and of constant learning, I am preparing based on what I believe that a Universal Mexican should possess, which is perseverance, discipline, dedication, willingness and satisfaction to help others. I can tell you today that I feel more mentally and physically prepared to represent my entire state in the National.’

Paulina is considered as one of the strong contenders for the title even though she is new to pageantry because her dedication and zeal to win the title is very evident. She believes that she has all the skills and ability to win the title and represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2020.
