Miss Angola 2019 leaves capital to encourage tourism in Lubango

Miss Angola 2019 will be held in the city of Lubango under the motto ‘The Natural Beauties of Huíla’, a way to encourage national tourism. This will be the third time that the competition leaves the capital of the country after passing the province of Benguela and Cabinda. Ana Liliana Avião, from the province of Luanda will be crowning her successor at the grand coronation night.

The deputy director of the Miss Angola committee, Karina Almeida, announced with the governor of Huíla, Luis Nunes, that the gala of election of the most beautiful woman of the country Miss Angola 2019 this year will be held in the city of Lubango. It is chosen to host Miss Angola 2019 because of its cultural diversity and tourism potential interior.

Miss Angola is held annually since 1998 with candidates participating from the country’s eighteen provinces and some from the diaspora. The first winner of the contest was Emília Guardado, a candidate from Benguela province and the only Angolan woman who wore the Miss Universe crown was Leila Lopes in 2011.
