Last night Aruba saw the crowning of 4 of its new queens as the Miss Aruba 2018 pageant concluded after a grand coronation night. Miss Aruba 2017 (Miss Aruba Universe 2017) Alina Mansur crowned her successor who will now represent Aruba at the Miss Universe 2018 elections later this year where, Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters will crown her successor.

The Miss Aruba 2018 the 51th edition of the Miss Aruba pageant was held in Alhambra Ballroom, Divi Resorts in Oranjestad, Aruba.

Kimberly Julsing was crowned Miss Aruba 2018 (Miss Aruba Universe 2018) at the end of the night. The three other crownings that also took place at the coronation night were Miss Aruba World 2018 Nurianne Arias, Miss Aruba Hispanoamerica 2018 Raquelle Reeberg, and Miss Aruba Internacional del Café 2018 Hannah Arends.

This is not Kimberly’s first shot at pageantry. The beauty queen also took part in the Miss Teen Aruba contest in 2017, and ended up as the second runner-up.

Under the direction of New Star Promotion Organization since 1992, Aruba has been accumulating positive results, with Taryn Mansell placing as first runner-up in 1996 at Miss Universe and Tamara Scaroni, becoming the first Aruban to receive the Miss Congeniality award in 2000; representatives placing as semifinalists in 1990, 1996, 2002, along with a first runner-up in 2001 at Miss World; and another semifinalist in Miss International 2001, three Best National Costume awards in 2000, 2007, 2008 and a first runner-up placement in 1994 at Miss International. In 2011, the New Star Promotion acquired the franchise for Miss Earth.

Traditionally the winner of Miss Aruba will represent her country at Miss Universe. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify (due to age) for either contest, a runner-up is sent. In 2012, Miss Aruba for Miss Universe has been selected by separate pageant. In 2013 the format from Miss Aruba winner for the Miss Universe pageant returned.
