Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 held its official press presentation on 18th September 2018 at Forbes Ballroom of Conrad Manila Hotel, Pasay City where the delegates of the competition were introduced to the media. At the event, Sharifa Akeel representing Philippines won the award of the Darling of the Press. Sharifa was also recently crowned Mutya Ng Pilipinas 2018 where she became the official delegate of Philippines in Miss Asia Pacific International 2018.
At the event, Madeline Andrea Ferrara from Germany and Gabriela Palma from Brazil were awarded the titles of first and second runners-up respectively. The delegates paraded in swimsuits, looking gorgeous as ever, as they were introduced to the press and the pageant lovers.
Sharifa Akeel took to her Instagram to express her happiness on her first win at the pageant saying, “Thank you press people for choosing me as this year's Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 Darling of the Press. I am very much happy as well to see and meet the beautiful ladies all around the pacific vying for the crown. This is again another competitive batch and please support me as I compete for this year's crown. It's time to bring back the Crown to the Philippines.”
As the competition has officially begun, the candidates will now have to work even harder to be a frontrunner at the pageant and win the international crown for their respective country. With this win, Philippines has proven that it is going to be a strong competitor at the pageant.
