Sonika Roy to represent India in Miss Asia Pacific International 2017

Sonika Roy is the representative of India in the 2017 edition of Miss Asia Pacific International pageant to be held on 29th November 2017 in Resorts World Manila, Philippines. Last year, Shrishti Vyakranam represented India in Miss Asia Pacific International 2016, which was won by Tessa le Conge from Netherlands.

Sonika is 23 years of age, stands tall at 5'8" and hails from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. This multi-lingual beauty queen was crowned as Miss India Asia Pacific International 2017 during a ceremony held by Fashion India at the Hotel New Marrion.

Sonika is not new to the world of beauty pageants, as she was amongst the finalists for Miss Earth India 2016 and was also amongst the Top 3 finalists of Femina Miss India Odisha 2017.

She is a trained Indian Classical and Bollywood dancer, model and an actress who has worked in several Odia Movies and has been the model for many luxury brands. She is a brand ambassador of Odisha’s leading spice brand and is associated with old age home.

Sonika is excited to go to the Philippines as she hopes not only to win the crown but also the hearts of her fellow candidates and the global audience. Her ambition in life is to be recognized by her good deeds after her death. She also wants to reduce global warming in every possible way!

India has produced three Miss Asia Pacific International winners till now - Zeenat Aman (1970), Tara Anne Fonseca (1973) and Diya Mirza (2000).
