The grand coronation of Miss Bacolod MassKara 2022 was held on 19th October 2022 at the University of Saint La Salle-Bacolod coliseum where Kara Daniela Villarosa was crowned Miss Bacolod MassKara Universe 2023. Kara is expected to represent Bacolod at the upcoming edition of Miss Universe Philippines 2023.

Villarosa gave a stellar performance at the regional competition. During the Q/A part, she was asked, “Much like the rest of the country, the people of Bacolod have gone through so much during this pandemic including losing business. Should the City of Smiles smile through all of this?”

She answered, “We in the City of Smiles I think we have to set an example to the rest of the country. We have to show them that even if we’re faced with these challenges, we are strong, we choose to rise from it all, and we still decide to smile. And for that I’m so thankful to be standing here as a Bacolodnon. Thank you.”

Villarosa also bagged the Best in Swimwear, Best Gown Designer, and Best in Evening Gown awards. Villarosa is expected to represent Bacolod City during the Miss Universe Philippines pageant in 2023 where she can win the opportunity to represent Philippines at the next edition of Miss Universe.

Also at the finale, Janine Gelera was crowned Miss Bacolod MassKara World 2022. She also won the Best Festival Costume Designer award. Gelera will represent the city in the Miss World Philippines 2023 pageant. Jan Marie Bordon was crowned Miss Bacolod MassKara International 2022 and will represent Bacolod in the Binibining Pilipinas pageant next year. Bordon was also awarded Best in Talent award.

Eirine Juliane Granada and Sandale Masangcay, were adjudged as the first and second runners up, respectively. Granada will be representing Bacolod in the upcoming Mutya ng Pilipinas 2022 pageant in December while Masangcay will join the Lin-ay sang Negros pageant which will be held during the Panaad sa Negros Festival in 2023.
