Miss Universe 2022, the 71st edition of Miss Universe, is all set to be held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana in USA on 14th January 2023 where Harnaaz Sandhu of India will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

The question that arises is that if a sandwich win can be created in Miss Universe in 2022 edition. In 2020, Andrea Meza of Mexico was crowned Miss Universe 2020. It was Mexico's first victory in 10 years, and the third victory of the country in the pageant's history. However in 2021, Harnaaz Sandhu of India won the Miss Universe 2021 crown, breaking a back-to-back win for Mexico. Débora Hallal Miss Universe Mexico 2021 competed at Miss Universe 2021 but failed to place in the Top 16.

However, this year, Irma Miranda is all set to represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2022 and if she wins, she will create a sandwich win for her country. Irma Miranda was born on 15th August 1996 in the city of Cajeme, Sonora. A Mexican model, presenter and beauty queen. She earned her bachelor’s degree in economics and finance at Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora in Ciudad Obregon.

Standing 5 feet 6 inches tall, Irma holds various titles under belt; she was Nuestra Belleza Cajeme 2015 and went on to represent Cajeme at Nuestra Belleza Sonora 2015, competing eleven contestants in Sonora and won the title.

In 2016, she represented Sonora at Nuestra Belleza Mexico 2016 and competed against 28 other candidates at Foro 2 of Televisa San Angel in Mexico City, Mexico. She was adjudged first runner-up to Kristal Silva of Tamaulipas. The 24-year-old was crowned Mexicana Universal Sonora 2021 and that’s how she gained the chance to represent Sonora at Mexicana Universal 2022 and won. Irma is surely a strong contender for the international crown and can win the first sandwich win for her country.
