Mexicana Universal 2022, the 4th edition of Mexican Universal, was held on 21st May 2022 at San Luis Potosí Convention Center, where Irma Miranda of Sonora was crowned Mexicana Universal 2022. She succeeded Mexicana Universal 2021 Debora Hallal who will represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2022.

Irma Miranda was born on 15th August 1996 in the city of Cajeme, Sonora. A Mexican model, presenter and beauty queen. She earned her bachelor’s degree in economics and finance at Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora in Ciudad Obregon.

Standing 5 feet 6 inches tall, Irma holds various titles under belt; she was Nuestra Belleza Cajeme 2015 and went on to represent Cajeme at Nuestra Belleza Sonora 2015, competing eleven contestants in Sonora and won the title.

In 2016, she represented Sonora at Nuestra Belleza Mexico 2016 and competed against 28 other candidates at Foro 2 of Televisa San Angel in Mexico City, Mexico. She was adjudged first runner-up to Kristal Silva of Tamaulipas. The 24-year-old was crowned Mexicana Universal Sonora 2021 and that’s how she gained the chance to represent Sonora at Mexicana Universal 2022 and won.

After her win, Irma took to her social media to share, “God’s times are perfect! Thank you Sonora, Thank you Mexico! I promise to give my best and never give up, to leave our country high. I will be MEXICO before the UNIVERSE. Follow your dreams, don't let anyone limit you, let no one tell you who to be, much less who to become... you are the pilot of your life, live it, enjoy it and take advantage of every moment to grow, learn and raise your voice!”

From a very young age, Irma has been a lover of dance. In her adolescence, she took ballet classes as well as folklore dance. The young woman has said on several occasions that she likes to promote Mexican culture and traditions. Irma is a professional and she is also a television host, where she shows her talent in the sports section and has even participated in music videos several times.

When Irma asked about how she would use her profession to help take care of the environment, she replied, “Together we can create a better world”. Because Irma is a television host, she also focused on the media to raise awareness and that from whatever our profession, it is possible to contribute to improving the environment. She is definitely a strong contender for the international crown.
