All about Miss Universe Mexico 2021 Débora Hallal

Mexicana Universal organization, through their official social media, announced that the Sinaloan beauty Débora Hallal will represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2021. She succeeds none other than Andrea Meza who was crowned Miss Universe 2020 in May 2021.

 

 

Background

Débora is a 24-year-old model, originally from Los Mochis, Sinaloa. She attended the Universidad Tecmilenio in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. “I am totally committed, and more so this special year, it is a designation. It is a great commitment for me and believe me that I am very happy”, she said during the broadcast. Débora fluently speaks Spanish and English and has three sisters.

 

 

Pageantry

In 2016, Débora was elected Miss World Teen Mexico 2016 represented Mexico at the international contest where she placed in the Top 10. She competed in Mexicana Universal Sinaloa 2018 and finished in the Top 5. In 2019, she won the crown as Mexicana Universal Sinaloa and competed in the last edition of Mexicana Universal, finishing second to Andrea Meza.

 

 

Charity and Advocacy

In 2015, she founded Un Proposito, a project that does charitable activities. In August 2020, she became the president of the Los Mochis Veteran Firefighters Board of Trustees.

Lupita Jones said, "We trust you a lot, we know that you are going to do a great, great job and this title of Mexicana Universal 2021 could not be in better hands.”

For her part, Andrea Meza Miss Universe 2020, shared a photo congratulating the 24-year-old saying, "You deserve it! Débora will represent Mexico in the next edition of Miss Universe.”

 

 

Andrea Meza brought home the third crown for Mexico in May 2021; the first one was Lupita Jones in 1991 and Ximena Navarrete in 2010.
