Miss Brasil 2016 which is also popular as Miss Universe Brasil 2016 is all set to be held on 1 October 2016 and meanwhile the pageant organizers have revealed the dates of regional pageant of Brasil. The winner of Miss Brasil 2016 will succeed Marthina Brandt, Miss Brazil 2015 and will get the opportunity to represent her country at the forthcoming Miss Universe 2016 pageant.
The reigning Miss Brasil, Marthina Brandt of Vale Real, Rio Grande do Sul represented Brazil at Miss Universe 2015 pageant, where she made it to the TOP 15 finalists.

Miss Brasil pageant came into existence in the year 1954, and the very first Miss Brasil pageant was held in the city of Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, wherein Bahia’s representative Martha Rocha was crowned as Miss Brasil 1954. The first edition of the pageant was sponsored by the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper.

However, Brasil has won the Miss Universe title in 1963 wherein Leda Maria Vargas clinched the crown, and later in 1968 Martha Vasconcellos of Brasil was crowned as Miss Universe. The partnership between Rede Bandeirantes and the Miss Universe Organization will be prolonged. Later on an event company, ‘Grupo Bandeirantes’ has signed a contract with Donald Trump and NBC Universal with a motto to provide a new impulse to beauty pageants in Brazil.
