The newly crowned Miss Brazil 2017, Monalysa Alcântara might be the most beautiful Brazilian woman right now, but the recent controversy has raised a question on her eligibility to hold the title of Miss Universe 2017.

As per the Miss Universe pageant rules, a participant for Miss Universe must be at least 18 years of age before 1st January in the year they hope to compete in the Miss Universe pageant.

After a bit of calculation, it is quite clear that Monalysa Alcântara might not qualify for 66th Miss Universe since she was born on January 26, 1999, which is 26 days short of the minimum age requirement.

It will now be quite interesting to see if Monalysa is allowed to compete in Miss Universe 2017 and is allowed to keep the title of Miss Brasil 2017.

Monalysa was crowned Miss Brazil 2017 on 19th August 2017. In case, Monalysa is disqualified it may open doors for the first runner-up Juliana Mueller from Rio Grande do Sul to represent Brazil in Miss Universe 2017.

Monalysa Alcantara might get disqualify for the violation of “age limit rule” for Miss Universe pageant

Let's wait and watch for the final verdict.
