Miss Costa Rica 2016 is on the road to the finale and is scheduled to be held on August 19’ 2016. The gorgeous aspirants from all over Costa Rica will compete for the coveted title of Miss Costa Rica 2016 and one of them will earn the right to represent Costa Rica at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant. The reigning Miss Costa Rica is Brenda Castro.

More than 50 young contestants registered for the coveted pageant, out of which 50 aspirants were shortlisted to compete further. On June 16’ 2016, the 50 stunning aspirants competed through a series of Preliminary Competitions based on which ten finalists were shortlisted.

The judges for the Preliminary Competition were Gabriela Alfaro: Director of Miss Costa Rica and the reigning Miss Costa Rica Brenda Castro. The announcement for the Top 10 finalists is yet to be made.

Miss Costa Rica is an annual national beauty pageant held in Costa Rica that selects representatives for Miss Universe pageant. Miss Costa Rica has been actively sending representatives to Miss Universe pageant since 1954. In its sixty years of history, the pageant has sent 56 representatives.

The finale of Miss Costa Rica 2016 will be televised live on Teletica. The contestants will be judged on the basis of different rounds – Personality Round, Swimsuit Round, Evening Gown Round and Question and Answer Round.
