At the conclusion of the splendid finale of Miss Universe Ukraine 2016, Alena Spodynyuk was crowned as the winner and will now represent Ukraine at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant. Alena succeeds Anna Verhelskaya Miss Universe Ukraine 2015.

18 years old Alena was born & raised in Sevastopol, Crimea but now lives in Kiev. Standing tall at an impressive height of 181cm, Alena is determined to make her country proud at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant. Alena has always been inclined towards sports and has been playing handball since 5 years. She is also very fond of animals, especially dogs. Alena has two dogs and one of them was picked from the street who she adores the most. Alena says, “People should learn to love each other and not fight.”

Recently, Oleksandra Ruffin, the former franchise holder of “Miss Ukraine Universe” pageant had sold the franchise of the national pageant to a foreign-owned international company run by Anna Filimonova. Anna is now the new franchise holder of Miss Ukraine Universe. The first edition of the contest was won by Inna Tsymbalyuk. The main goal of Miss Ukraine Universe is to find the best girl who could become the face of Ukraine. The pageant aims at bringing forth a representative who can create positive image about the country in the world.
