The organization of Miss Costa Rica hosted the coronation ceremony for Miss Costa Rica 2020 just a few hours ago at Estudio Marco Picado in Nunciatura, San José Province, Costa Rica where Ivonne Cerdas was crowned as the new queen and earned the opportunity to represent Costa Rica at Miss Universe 2020 stage. The diva succeeds Miss Costa Rica 2019 Paola Chacón for the title and is very excited to take over the crown duties.
Ivonne is 27-years-old and stands 175 cm tall and is a software engineer who graduated from Universidad Tecnica Nacional in Barrio Lourdes, Alajuela Province. She has shown immense dedication towards winning the crown and represent Costa Rica at Miss Universe 2020 stage and was one of our favorites for the title as well.
Miss Costa Rica 2020 Ivonne Cerdas’ court includes:
First Runner-up: Valeria Rees Loria
Second Runner-up: Jennifer Barrantes Flores
The diva is not new to the pageantry as this was the third time, she had participated at Miss Costa Rica. She was adjudged as the first runner-up at Miss Costa Rica 2012 and second runner-up at Miss Costa Rica 2015 competition. She took to her social media to thank everyone who had helped her throughout her journey till now as she believes that constant struggle and support has helped her to be what she is today; a strong, confident, determined woman.
Ivonne believes that everyone at the competition are strong and empowered and have taught her something she would always cherish. She would like to use the platform to advocate about women empowerment as she believes that only we know the courage it takes to expose ourselves in this way, and the dedication it takes to prepare for this day. She is very strong, determined, and confident with how she presents herself on-stage.
If Ivonne Cerdas wins Miss Universe, she will be the beauty pageant’s first ever titleholder from Costa Rica. The last time a candidate from the country placed was in 2018 when Natalia Carvajal, 30, of San José finished in the Top 10. Ivonne has started to prepare herself for the competition and assured that she will perform her best at the competition of Miss Universe 2020.
Congratulations.
