Miss Costa Rica 2022, the 67th edition of Miss Costa Rica, was held last night, i.e. 28th September 2022 at Estudio Marco Picado, Nunciatura, San José Province, San José, Costa Rica where María Fernanda Rodríguez was crowned the new queen as she became the official representative of Costa Rica at Miss Universe 2022.

María Fernanda Rodríguez Ávila is 24 years of age and hails from San Carlos, Costa Rica. She is fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese. The stunning beauty holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

Not new to the pageant world, Maria holds various titles under her belt; She is Reina Teen Costa Rica Intercontinental 2012, Miss Teen Mesoamérica Internacional 2013, Miss Teen Universe 2015 finalist. In 2017, she was appointed as Miss Earth Costa Rica 2017 during the Reina Costa Rica Intercontinental 2017 finals. Representing Costa Rica at Miss Earth 2017, Maria remained unplaced.
