Beauty pageant contestants are not just about good looks, they are definitely more than that. And this was proved yet again during the Delhi auditions of Miss Diva 2015. The girls who participated in the audition left the judges surprised and astonished with their educational qualifications. The aspirants were a mix of college students and also professionals including engineer and Air Force cadets.

There were three tiers of auditions – the shorts and vest round, bikini round and cocktail dress round. Total 150 candidates turned up for the event and a few girls were eliminated after the first round itself. Finally, out of all the aspirants, 10 girls were handpicked who will be fast tracked to the final round of auditions in Mumbai. The judge’s verdict on the auditions was in one word “impressive”. The judging panel comprised of Miss Universe India 2014, Noyonita Lodh and renowned Indian Fashion Designer Rina Dhaka.

The judges were very impressed by the question and answer session with the contestants and were amazed by the confidence and maturity with which the contestants faced the questions. One of the contestants, Akshita, who is planning to at the World Bank and wants to work with the UN said, "With the Miss Diva crown on my head, I will never need to introduce myself. Modelling and acting are on my mind, but my basic objective still remains to spread a message for the welfare of society. Miss Diva gives you a reputation, and some kind of responsibility. I have always been good in academics - I was head girl in Loreto Convent - but the world of glamour is my calling. I am so excited right now."

Fashion designer Rina Dhaka looked highly impressed with the audition and concluded by saying, “These girls are well prepared and are certain about what they want. I am surprised at the ease with which these girls, who are not professional models, have presented themselves in the bikini round. An enormous amount of courage is required to present oneself on a flood-lit stage, in front of the white lights. Miss Diva gives a great opportunity to aspiring models, and I think Delhi girls are the most beautiful. More girls should participate in such pageants."
