The 8th edition of Miss Diva, i.e. Miss Diva 2020, was held yesterday night at the Yash Raj Studio in Mumbai where twenty beauties competed for the national crown and Adline Castelino was crowned as the new queen. Miss Diva Universe 2019 Vartika Singh crowned her successor at the end of the event finale.
Adline Castelino gave a stunning performance as the finale as was a front runner ever since the beginning of the competition. Born in Kuwait City, she is the daughter of Alphonsus Castelino and Meera Castelino of Udyavar, Udupi. She shifted to Mumbai while she was 15 and completed her secondary education from St Xavier and graduated from Wilson College of business administration. She is a model and works with VSP, an organization that works towards sustainable livelihood for framers to curb farmer suicides and inequality. She relates to this cause as her grandparents were farmers and her grandmother died at the age of 22 due to lack of medical facilities. Through this opportunity, Adline feels that getting to this stage is no more than a miracle for someone who had no one in the city and representing her country on an international stage is a dream come true for the diva.
Adline had wind flowing in her direction even before she appeared for the audition as pageant pages always wanted her to come for Miss Diva. Not only Adline maintained her front runner status throughout the contest, she kept growing on people through her performance. Adline’s national costume of portraying female farmers won hearts of pageant followers. Adline’s consistency in performance, focused attitude, magnetic personality and a real cause is a set of attractive qualities that would be a weapon for India at Miss Universe.

The event was a truly a success as Bollywood actors such as Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Miss Universe 2000 Lara Dutta, designers Shivan and Narresh, Miss Supranational 2014 Asha Bhat, Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2006 and actress Jacqueline Fernandes, designer Nikhil Mehra and designer Gavin Miguel were among the panel of judges of the competition. Malaika Arora Khan hosted the grand finale and as the special guest from Thailand and one of the judges for Miss Diva Universe 2020 grand finale, Miss Supranational 2019 Anntonia Porslid graced the event and also crowned this year’s Miss Supranational India 2020 Aavriti Choudhary.
From the twenty stunning ladies, the Top 10 who moved further in the competition included - Adeline Castelino, Anisha Sharma, Arshina Sumbul, Archana Ravi, Neha Jaiswal, Roshni Sharma, Vaishnavi Ganesh, Malashya Kashyap, Aavriti Choudhary, Rushali Yadav. As the finale night reached its conclusion, the contestants were shortlisted to Top 5 which included Aavriti Choudhary, Roshni Sharma, Neha Jaiswal, Anisha Sharma, Adeline Castelino and after a rigorous Q/A, the winners were announced.
