Miss Earth 2014 Question and Answer round

At the finals pageant night of Miss Earth 2014 held on November 29’ 2014 at the UP Theater in Manila, Philippines, the Top 8 gorgeous contestants of Miss Earth 2014 pageant had to go through the Question and Answer (Q&A) round. The contestants were asked questions related to women empowerment, nature, beauty pageants and their relevance etc. Lets have a look at the Questions and Answers of the Top 8 finalists.

Country - Brazil; Finalist - Leticia Silva

Question: When can you say that a woman is truly empowered?

Answer: A woman is empowered if she can do what she wants. It comes from the inside, from the heart.

Country - Mongolia; Finalist - Tugsuu Idersaikhan

Question: In your opinion, what differentiates this beauty pageant from other international competitions?

Answer: Miss Earth pageant is different because it is about people. It empowers people. It’s about the nature that’s why it’s different, that’s why it’s better.

Country - Slovak Republic; Finalist - Daria Fabrici

Question: Have beauty pageants lost their relevance? Why or why not?

Answer: In my opinion, all girls in this pageant are beautiful, but also they have something inside that is very important. And I think that that it’s not just about looking good, but doing good.

Country - Venezuela; Finalist - Maira Alexandra Rodriguez

Question: What is the significance of beauty pageants in this time and age?

Answer: This pageant is very important because it is an initiative to protect and save the earth. I have three messages to give - care for the world, care for the earth, more respect for the world and the earth, and to do it with love. Together, we can save the planet.

 

Miss Earth 2014 Top 8 Finalists

 

Country - USA; Finalist - Andrea Neu

Question: You’ve been doing a lot of great things in the Philippines in the past month and I was wondering which one do you think should be the one that should be done first by all of us and why?

Answer: That’s really a hard question because every single activity that Miss Earth Organization has us girls doing had just been amazing. My favorite has been the school tours that we’ve gone to. I personally love little kids, I tend to gravitate to them and just if we are able to put a smile on their face, that makes us happy and put a smiles to our faces too. So thank you so much Miss Earth Organization for that opportunity.

Country - Philippines; Finalist - Jamie Herrell

Question: If you win tonight’s crown, what will you do to help reverse the effects of global warming?

Answer: Global warming has been known for being a very long, overdue issue. That is why, if I am crowned tonight, I will use my title to inspire others, to help our environment, and we start with the kids…because the kids are the people of tomorrow. And if we teach them, they will also help the community. And that's what I will do if I am crowned Miss Earth tonight.

Country - Russia; Finalist - Anastasia Trusova

Question: So how has this pageant changed the way you look at the environment after you’ve joined?

Answer: After this pageant, I will promote ecotourism all over the world. I will promote environmental advocacy. I want to create my own organization which will conducted with different world organizations. We will care our nature, our environment and help our world. I want to create something for children because it’s our future.

Question: What is the best gift that you can give to Mother Earth and why?

Answer: I think what we should do is to start by ourselves, do step by step, don’t try to do the big things first. To see around ourselves and try to do it better.
