At the ongoing 64th edition of Miss World beauty pageant in London, another event was organized on November 28’ 2014, at Grosvenor Hotel in London in which 10 finalists were announced for Beauty with a Purpose, one of whom will become the winner of Beauty with a Purpose challenge event.
“Beauty with a purpose” is considered as the heart of Miss World beauty pageant. It was created by Julia Morley in 1972. Through this event hundreds of millions of pounds are raised and donated to the international organizations in aid of the sick, needy, poor and disadvantaged children.
This year over 20 thousand pounds were raised. In addition to that , Miss World 1953 Denise Perrier of France donated the trophy she won when she was elected as Miss World, 61 years ago. It was sold for 30 thousand pounds.
This year also the girls put on their finest gowns for the classic event of Miss World Charity Gala and Auction. Different projects were taken up by the contestants like providing poor women with sexual education, repairing cleft lips, making people aware of blood and organ donations etc.

Few of the eye catching projects included one from Serbia where the contestant trained a disabled volleyball team in her home country which indeed helped in transforming the team.
Another one was by Netherland where the contestant spent 13 hours in a cage to depict and signify the pain of the women who were trapped in their country and are forced into the business of prostitution.

Miss World 2014 final is scheduled to be held on December 14’ 2014 at Excel London, England.
