Two beauty queens, Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Gabrena Ong and Miss Earth - Air 2016 Michelle Gomez, have stayed friends for a long time now. The duo even shares a condo in Manila, Philippines. The beauty queens, however, did have a bad start in the morning today as a fire broke out in the very same apartment that they share.

Through Angelia’s messages, a blueprint of events can be assumed. The former Miss Earth, Angelia, had woken up due to a flight that she was supposed to be on at around 1:00 p.m (PHT). Unfortunately, a fire broke out in the apartment. The fire must have escalated quickly, as neither Angelia nor Michelle had the time to put on slippers, and had to run barefoot through the hallway to save their lives. The Meranti Two Serendra were called to the scene, and they efficiently put out the fire before it could cause too much damage. 

Angelia shared messages on her Facebook regarding the incident and informed her fans of the mishap.

‘Thanking God for protecting Michelle and I right now! Our room caught fire and we had to run out fast barefoot. Thanks for the fast response and assistance of The Meranti Two Serendra. We almost everything. Good thing it happened in the morning just right after I woke up coz it could’ve been worse if it was when we were sleeping...’

Once the commotion was over, and things had been sorted out to an extent that the two beauty queens could finally stop worrying, Angelia shared this heartfelt message.

‘Thanks to everyone who called and messaged. I can’t reply to everyone at the moment but just to update, Michelle and I are safe and sound. No major damage. A fire was out fast. It was a scare but also a reminder.

Guys, hug your loved ones and tell them you love them. Apologize when needed, reach that dream, book that trip, eat that cake and marry the one you love. God just reminded me of the value of life again today.

Value people more than things. Cherish relationships but value most the biggest love of them all, the one from above... after that, you can love yourself then the rest can follow.’

Angelia then caught her flight and signed off with a final post before leaving for Dubai.

‘I won’t be able to answer messages until after 9hours. To my friends in Dubai, I’ll be there today till the 28th. See you.

Also, thankful for this flight that woke me up and prevented things from getting worse from this morning’s mishap.’

Fortunately, the damage was only limited to a fraction of their material possessions and no lives were lost in this mishap.
