Katherine Espin’s crowning as Miss Earth 2016 has not just given a hike to the Miss Earth pageant, but has also helped in improving the country’s tourism. Miss Earth Organisation announced that Katherine Espin, with Carousel Productions EVP Lorraine Schuck, will be paying a courtesy call to Hon. Sec. Wanda Corazon Tulfo Teo of the Department of Tourism.

As per reports, the Department of Tourism (DOT) is keen on working together with local government units (LGU) in planning the development of the Northern most tip of Luzon. Katherine de Castro. Tourism undersecretary for Public Affairs and Advocacy, revealed that the department is willing to work towards promoting tourism in Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte and to manage its rapid development.
In fact, Katherine recently visited Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, with Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa and enjoyed a leisure time. The beauty queens stayed at Hannah Beach Resort and enjoyed various activities throughout their vacation, including riding on ATVs, zip-lining, shooting, and walking on the beach.
De Castro, who arrived in Laoag on Saturday along with guests that included 2016 Miss International Kylie Versoza, 2016 Miss Earth Katherine Espin, and 2013 Miss World Maegan Young, represented the tourism chief at the inauguration and blessing of Hannah Resort’s newest premium suite wing. Ecuadorian beauty Katherine Espin is proving to be an amazing find for the Miss Earth pageant. She has been winning the hearts of the Filipinos with her good heart and great work.
Katherine Espin was crowned as Miss Earth 2016 at the finale held on 29th October 2016. Katherine said that her advocacy as reigning Miss Earth will focus on addressing climate change. She called it as the “most important environmental issue we have right now in the planet.” Katherine has made various school tours and also attended the Isabela for the Bambanti Festival, in Vigan City upon the invitation of the League of Vice Governors of the Philippines, Davao and Bacolod.
