Post-Pageant analysis of Miss Earth 2022

Miss Earth 2022, the 22nd edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held tonight at Okada Manila in the Philippines where Mina Sue Choi of South Korea was crowned the new queen. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Earth 2021 Destiny Wagner of Belize. This year's event marks the return of its live competition following two virtual editions in 2020 and 2021.

Mina Sue Choi created history at the pageant by becoming the first ever South Korean woman to win a Big4 International Beauty Pageant. The finale was held in the Top 20-Top 12-Top 8 format from which the elemental court and the winner was crowned.

The finale show was hosted by Filipino-British television host and automotive journalist James Deakin. Co-hosts included former winners consisting of Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong, Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco, and Miss Earth 2019 Nellys Pimentel.

The newly crowned Miss Earth 2022 Mina Sue Choi’s elemental court included Miss Earth-Air 2022 – Sheridan Mortlock of Australia, Miss Earth-Water 2022 – Nadeen Ayoub of Palestine and Miss Earth Fire 2022 – Andrea Aguilera of Colombia.

Miss Earth's virtual pre-pageant activities were broadcasted on Miss Earth's official YouTube channel on 25th October 2022 with the ‘Meet the Delegates’ series. Six competitions took place which included Fauna outfit competition, Intelligence preliminary judging, National costume competition, Beauty of Face, Fitness & Form, and the Eco Video presentations.

The panel of judges included Executive Director of ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity Dr. Theresa Mundita Lim; Forbes 30 Under 30 entrepreneur and Made In Space founder Aaron Kemmer; award-winning Filipino television host, news reporter, author, and environmentalist Daphne Oseña-Paez; Managing Director of Mindshare Philippines Abhisek Gupta; Senior Country Officer International Finance Corporation World bank Group Thuy Bui; Cheif Operating Officer of Philippine Stock Exchange Roel Refran; and Miss Earth Executive Vice President Lorraine Schuck.
