Miss Earth Bangladesh Organization was officially launched through a press conference on 27th January 2020 at the Nasrul Hamid Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity in the capital. Naila Bari, the National Director of Miss Earth Bangladesh disclosed the details of the contest and highlighted its objectives at the press conference.
The winner of Miss Earth Bangladesh 2020 contest will represent the country in the Miss Earth international competition which will be held in Manila, Philippines in September 2020. From this year’s September, Bangladesh will represent its ambassador to the Miss Earth for the first time. As part of this Endeavour, Miss Earth Bangladesh is being arranged in the country. Triple Nine Global, a Bangladeshi company owned by Naila Bari, got the license for this beauty pageant.

The eligibility criteria being addressed by the organization, particularly is that the Interested participants can register online for free of cost from February 1 to 29 by visiting the contest’s official website, www.misserthbangladesh.com. Following the registration, the participants have to go through rounds of auditions, grooming and filming. Qualification of the applicants should be natural born female; never been married, single, never given birth; 18-28 years of age (until December 31, 2019); minimum height of 5 feet 5 inches (165.10 cm); possess beauty of face and proportionate body structure; outgoing and friendly; excellent physical condition; has knowledge of her country’s culture and environment, especially on natural energy source, climate changes, pollution.
Miss Earth is an annual international environmental-themed beauty pageant competition promoting environmental awareness and responsibility fully accredited and supported by the United Nations Environment Programme. The contest is the third largest beauty pageant in the world in terms of the number of national-level competitions to participate in the world finals. Along with Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss International, the competition is one of the Big Four international beauty pageants — the most coveted beauty titles among all the international pageant competitions.
The Miss Earth winner is the spokesperson for the Miss Earth Foundation, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and other environmental organizations. The Miss Earth Foundation also works with the environmental departments and ministries of participating countries, various private sectors and corporations, as well as the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF). Miss Earth 2019 Nellys Pimentel of Puerto Rico will crown her successor at this year’s Miss Earth.
