In August 2021, the Miss Earth Belize organization crowned Aarti Sooknandan as Miss Earth Belize 2021 to represent Belize at the Miss Earth 2021 pageant. With only over a month of being crowned, Aarti has now asked the organization to be withdrawn from representing Belize at Miss Earth 2021, reasons for which remain unknown, and the organization has complied with her decision.

Belize has now chosen a new delegate for the 21st Miss Earth pageant and she is the very beautiful and talented Destiny Evelyn Wagner, first runner-up Miss Universe Belize 2019. Destiny has graciously stepped up and accepted the honor and will now be representing Belize. Her first official appearance will be on 4th October 2021, where she will join other Miss Earth delegates for the pageant’s ‘Get To Know You’ segment. Announcing the same, the organization also wished Aarti well in her future endeavors.

25 years-old Destiny Wagner is a graduate with BA in Business Administration from Pace University, New York. She is a TV series host, influencer, brand ambassador and a print and commercial mode. She is also an accomplished poet and an author of two books.

In 2020, Destiny collaborated with 20 other Belizean writers and wrote ‘Belizean Blues’ this year in efforts to raise awareness and funds to combat Unequal education and Child hunger issues in Belize. The book is filled with poems and short stories inspired by the lives of everyday Belizeans and 100% of the proceeds have gone towards a non-profit organization, Operation Kingdom. Operation Kingdom is dedicated to combating child hunger and fighting for equal education.

Not new to pageantry, after being adjudged as the first runner-up at Miss Universe Belize 2019, in 2020, Destiny was again placed as the first runner-up for the virtual version of Miss Universe Belize 2020. In 2016, she represented Belize in the Miss Caribbean USA pageant, where she was awarded as Miss Photogenic and Miss Congeniality.

After being appointed as the new Miss Earth Belize 2021, Destiny took to her social media to share, “Overwhelmed with the amount of love and support I've received all day. I love Belize with all my heart and soul and it is an honor to be your Miss Earth Belize 2021.”

Belize did not compete at the Miss Earth pageant during 2019-2020, and was last represented by Renae Shereze Martinez at Miss Earth 2018. This year, Destiny Wagner will represent Belize at Miss Earth 2021, happening virtually in November 2021.
