Miss Earth Guyana 2018 finalist Akisha Payne ‘Beauties for a Cause’ Project

Miss Earth Guyana 2018 will organize its grand finale on 23rd June 2018 where seven beauties will compete for the national crown and the opportunity to represent Guyana at Miss Earth 2018.

Before the finale, Miss Earth Guyana 2018 contestants presented their ‘Beauties for a Cause’ project which will be a major factor in determining if the contestant is worthy of the title and its representation at international platforms.

In a series of features, we will look at their projects and how it can help in protecting the environment from major issues. The third is by Akisha Payne – ‘Forest Preservation’.

Akisha Payne’s advocates ‘Forest Preservation’ on a firm belief that forest is good, and it is a rare treasure to be respected and conserved. She has been spreading awareness about Guyana’s pristine rainforests and urging people to not destroy the beauty of Guyana’s nature and keep her country green.

As the People’s Choice Award winner, Akisha is already a step forward than the other contestants in the game. A certified health aid worker, this Guyana beauty has left no stone unturned to make people understand the importance of not only preserving forests but also plant them and nurture them for the present as well as the future.

As she states, “We humans are the caretakers of the earth as it should be our responsibility to ensure that our forest and our environment is kept intact. The forest is an indispensable resource to mankind and to the sustenance of the earth as such making others aware of their responsibility to the earth will increase the chances of survival for our future generations.”
