As the Miss Earth Guyana Organisation decided to postpone the holding of this year’s edition due to coronavirus pandemic, Cintiana Harry was appointed as the new Miss Earth Guyana 2020. The organisation on Friday said the coronation was cancelled due to the high risks of social gathering during the current COVID-19 situation.
The organisation also said Harry was appointed Miss Earth Guyana 2020 as she was rightfully next in line for the title after her outstanding performance in Miss Earth Guyana 2019 where she was crowned as the first Miss Eco-Guyana.
Harry also took to her social media to reveal her emotions in a post captioned, “My heart is filled with excitement. I am extremely happy to be given the opportunity to continue to help make the world greener using the prestigious title of Miss Earth Guyana 2020. I would like to thank Guyana Premier and the entire Miss Earth Guyana team. Thank you for believing in me and selecting me as Miss Earth Guyana 2020. I say, thank you to all of you for your continued love and support- I’ll need it more than ever now to fulfill the mandate of this title. It is an honour! As a strong and confident woman, I am determined to be an earth angel, to be the protector of mother earth and to be the voice that can stay strong in helping to build a better tomorrow.”
Meanwhile, the organisation also announced the appointment of Dr Omesh Balmacoon as the franchise’s new National Director. Dr Balmacoon served as the brand’s Managing Director for the period 2017 to present. “It is an absolute honour to have the torch passed to myself, and I know that with the support of our new team, which will be revealed in the next few days as well as the support of all Guyanese, we can do even greater things, [with] our first line of business being the international Miss Earth title,” he said.
Congratulations Cintiana Harry!
