Miss Earth Hungary 2018 Réka Lukács is all set to represent Hungary in Miss Earth 2018. The 25-year-old gorgeous diva calls herself a passionate woman with lots of dreams and life-changing plans ahead. Growing up and living in several parts of Hungary, she most definitely knows her country.
Réka has two different sides to her; the artist and the economist. Over the past four years, she established herself as a serious actor. She has placed acting as her most important goal since it has always been her biggest passion in life. She keeps studying the craft so that she can develop her skills in order to get more serious international roles in film and television.
But let’s not forget that she has a “business woman” side as well. She got her university diploma in International Economics. She studied everything in English to perfect her language skills but she also went abroad to study Marketing and Business in Madrid in a Spanish language program. She really has an international flavour.
As the humble queen prepares for her delegation, she finds time to talk about her dreams, ambitions and guilty pleasures in an exclusive interview with Angelopedia.
INTERVIEW
Q. Tell us something about yourself and what you have been upto since your crowning?
I had the amazing opportunity to spend the last three months in Los Angeles visiting all sorts of people and places especially Hollywood. I’ve visited California twice and each time I’ve been able to meet a ton of people in the LA film and television industry. One of my friends from the movie industry introduced me to a theater group in Hollywood and I got to be involved in a small stage production. It was all volunteer, unpaid acting of course, but it was an amazing opportunity to practice and felt amazing to act on stage in the “big Hollywood”. It was a good few months because it really got me going as I got to see how Hollywood works.
Q. How does it feel to be Miss Earth Hungary 2018 and now a delegate of Miss Earth 2018?
I am thrilled, honoredz and very very excited. I can’t express how grateful and proud I am about wearing the Miss Earth Hungary 2018 title. It’s such an honor and amazing feeling to represent my country second time in my life in a prestigious world competition. I can’t wait to visit the breathtaking Philippines and participate in the pageant.
Q. How would you like to represent yourself at the international stage of Miss Earth 2018?
I will represent Hungary with respect and humility. I will provide my best to make my country proud. I will give myself all the time, enjoy every minute, make new friendships and create lifelong memories.
Q. What inspired you to the world of pageantry?
I have been always admired by these strong, independent women who have the courage, self-confidence and commitment to participate in a competition like Miss Earth. Because its very challenging, you have to be not just beautiful but very smart, strong, dedicated and outstanding. You have to have the power and courage to use your word to be able to draw people’s attention for a good cause. I just call these women as “Wonder Woman” and I always wanted to be one of them. This is happening now so I am very excited.
Q. As a Miss Earth official delegate, what is your advocacy towards environment protection?
We all know, water is essential for life. Without water there is nothing in the world there is no life. However, many people take it for granted and we don’t conserve and protect it. I would like to draw people’s attention to conserve as much as we can and use our joint power to help those people who don’t have access to clean drinking water at all.
Millions of people dying because of dirty water or because of drying out when other people live In the biggest prosperity is something I just can’t accept in life. People, we must do something together with joint power against it.
Q. You’re also studying acting for Film from a reputed institution. Would you like to tell us more about this?
For me, since my childhood, acting was always part of my life but after 2014 I was taking it very seriously as I came to realize it was my dream and this is what I would like to do as my profession in the future.
Learning ’acting for film’ at GTC International Film School in Budapest was also a great experience for me. I had four, very amazing and talented actors and directors from Hungary teaching us in a very small class. This school gave me lots of possibilities to meet and collaborate with foreign directors as well who visited to produce and shoot short films in English. Working in English was a whole new challenge!
I started taking more private classes too with very great actors/teachers from Hungary, for example Zsolt Anger and Vica Kerekes. These private classes were so demanding! My teachers and instructors really pushed me to find my own connections to acting roles. At the same time he was really encouraging, allowing me fail as I learned to express emotions, and really get into character roles. In fact acting classes are the place you want to fail, to get it totally wrong so you can find that right voice and right expression. Acting is really about connecting to an inside feeling or emotion and then holding onto it as you engage your role.
It is very motivating and inspiring to me seeing that, lots of famous actors actually started as beauty queens - Gal Gadot is the most recent and famous but Halle Berry and Eva Longoria were both famous American actresses who started out in pageants.
Q. Who is your role model, if any, and what values of his or her do you wish you could inculcate in your own life, and teach the next generation?
My closest role model and superhero is my mother, she is the strongest woman I know she taught my sister and me to never give up in our dreams, and we can reach everything in life if we believe and work hard for our dreams. she supports us in everything. She treats people equally, and teaches us to always stay humble and grateful for what we have in life. I think gratitude is very important for being happy in life and succeed. We cant take anything for granted.
Q. What is the one thing that keeps you going and inspires you to be the best version of yourself?
If I have to tell one thing that is: Gratitude. I think there is something like “lucky” in life then I am a very lucky women.. because I wake up look at my family my, loved ones, all the amazing people, friends around me, memories, my dreams all the amazing things I experienced and I have been through and I feel enormous gratitude for everything and this is what keeps me going this feels me with energy, happiness and positivity and this feeling inspires me to do more and keep going because life is beautiful and the limit is the sky.
Q. If you could be invisible for a day, how would you like to spend it?
That’s not an easy question, my first thought of course was to help people under very poor and bad circumstances by taking money away from dishonest people who get the money illegally or by doing bad things. I would give that money to people in need. However I have no right to judge people like this so I wouldn’t use that power for this.
Because I love acting and my biggest dream is to be an amazing international actress and get serious roles in big Hollywood movies too. So I would spend half of that day in a movie shooting and watch every single details. The other half of the day I would spend with Meryl Streep and learn from her by watching how she gets prepared for a serious role.
Q. What or who empowers you to be yourself and work hard every day?
I am extremely blessed by the amazing people around me. Somehow, I always attract very valuable and special people in my life who support and inspire me. I have a wonderful mother and sister, we have very strong relationship they are always next to me. These people and my dedication and passion empower me to work hard and reach all my dreams.

Q. Would you like to share your most special childhood memory with us?
I have plenty of amazing memories but if I have to highlight one is the time when me and my sister could convince mom to buy us a dog and we chose our puppy together. That is a very sweet memory. My dog’s name was Yellow she was a Golden Retriever she just passed away this year. She has been with us for 14 years
Q. What is the one thing you can label as your guilty pleasure?
Oo My God, I don’t even want to think about that right now. I have very sweet teeth and my favorite guilty pleasure is watching movies or my favorite series while eating my favorite, the best Peanut Butter Cup Ben & Jerry’s Ice cream. Unfortunately I can barely do this because I am always on diet and I don’t have lots of free time. But this is the best thing.
Q. We’re sure that this competition is another milestone in your life. What is that one thing that you ultimately want to achieve?
The Miss Earth Hungary title goes with lots of amazing opportunity and possibility that’s for sure. First of all I would like to use the publicity and these opportunities to draw people’s attention to good causes by expressing values and good example to the younger generations who will have the power to make changes in the world around us. Regarding my career I would like to focus on acting because I find it exhilarating and challenging. I really love film, I hope to one day be part of movies that inspire and motivate people just like some of my favorite films have inspired and motivated me.
Q. If you are granted three wishes right now, what would you ask for?
I would ask to everyone have the basic conditions for a normal, acceptable life
I want the people to live in peace and harmony and accept and respect each other( no more wars)
To become a role model as an actress
Q. Lastly, is there any message that you would like to give to your fans of Angelopedia?
