Miss Earth Mexico organization took to their official social media to announce that Graciela Ballesteros has been appointed Miss Earth Mexico 2020 just hours ago and will represent Mexico in Miss Earth 2020. She succeeds Miss Earth Mexico 2019 Hilary Islas.
Hailing from Monclova Coahuila, Graciela Ballesteros is a known name in the pageantry with various titles under her belt; she was adjudged Miss Earth Coahuila Water 2019 last year. She also won the Miss Polo International Mexico 2019 crown last year and represented her country at Miss Polo International winning the Miss Polo America 2019 title and placing in the Top 10.
The 24-year-old beauty is an international medalist in the discipline of Tae Kwan Do and Pan American runner-up in this sport, as well as being an ecological activist. Graciela is the second Coahuilense to represent her country in Miss Earth, the first was Abigail Elizalde who became Miss Earth-Water in 2008.
The decision to appoint a candidate without hosting the national pageant came in suddenly with probable reasons that the international pageant is to begin in two weeks virtually. Being a pageant veteran, Graciela, thus, does not need a lot of time to prepare herself completely for the pageant. Pageant fanatics are appreciating this move from the organization all over the globe.
Moreover, the delegates who won the state titles this year for the national edition will now represent their states at Miss Earth Mexico 2021 and will compete to represent Mexico at Miss Earth 2021. Congratulations to the newly appointed queen!
