After the successful completion of the 20th edition virtual pageant last year, Miss Philippines-Earth is all set for the 2021 contestants. The beauty pageant with a purpose to have its candidates and winners actively promote and get involved in the preservation of the environment and the protection of Mother Earth.

Together with the Miss Earth Foundation, Inc., Miss Philippines-Earth aims to give a strong emphasis on environmental awareness programs. The five titleholders will serve as the Ambassador to environmental protection campaigns in the country. Miss Earth Philippines 2021 will be representing Philippines at one of the biggest international beauty competitions, Miss Earth 2021.

With the ongoing screening for the candidates of Miss Earth Philippines 2021, a few names have appeared as fan favorites and some of the divas who have been screening show great potential to represent Philippines at the international stage. One of the names circling around most is of aspirant Ellyssa May Cedilla representing San Juan City.

This 24 year old versatile beauty standing 173 cm tall holds a degree in Travel Management from the University of Santo Tomas and graduated as a consistent dean’s lister. She’s popularly known as ‘Ate May’ as she is the eldest among her siblings and cousins. Currently, she’s a professional freelance model and an entrepreneur with two online businesses.

She has emerged as one of the best personalities at the screening, with a natural and authentic aura around her. Sharing the information and confirming her participation she took to her social media where she wrote, “Even though I haven’t really been vocal yet about joining a pageant, I would just like to thank everyone who took their time to support me in the final screening we had on May 14. Now, I would like to let everyone know that I am an aspiring delegate for Miss Philippines Earth 2021. I am hoping to represent the City of San Juan.”

Being someone who has always had the heart to travel, her environment advocacy is about the pandemic in the ocean floor. She believes that this is very timely with the current fight against corona virus as the improper disposal of used tissues, face masks, rubber gloves, etc. have been adding up to the existing water pollution, hence damaging the sea-bed.

For this 21st edition, Miss Philippines Earth adapts the theme “Colors of the Earth” to reflect the vast and unique biodiversity of the country. The theme also hints at a brighter outlook on 2021 coming from a rather ominous 2020 due to the pandemic.
