Miss Earth Singapore 2018 will be hosting their grand finale on 3rd August 2018 at the Grand Ballroom of One Farrer Hotel and Spa, Singapore. Miss Earth Singapore 2017 Elizabeth Camilia Lee will be crowning her successor at the event and the winner will go on to represent Singapore at Miss Earth 2018, which will be held on 3rd November 2018 in Philippines.
The contestants fighting for the title are Charlotte Tay, Dong Ye Xuan (Kara Dong), Gerlyn Cheah, Gurvin Kaur, Jolene Ong, Natalie Phoon, Regine Chan, Saranya Chyenne, Tanooja Rai and Trinisha Kaur.
But before the finale, Angelopedia has chosen the Top 5 candidates who are most likely to win Miss Earth Singapore 2018 -
Gerlyn Cheah
This Environmental Engineer from Nanyang Technological University is a trained dancer in the ballet, contemporary, jazz, lyrical and neo-classical genres. Her environmental advocacy is “Waste is a wasted resource” and she believes in a zero-waste society. She wants to dedicate her life to environment conservation and wants to spread its knowledge and message around the world. She wants to bring about change in the society by being the catalyst that changes people’s path towards environmental conservation.
Jolene Ong
Jolene is a designer by profession who loves to travel, run and create art. Her core environmental advocacy is the issue of global warming. She wants to make everything around her beautiful. She aspires to be a fearless woman strong enough to chase her dreams and goals and to be able enough to support life.
Natalie Phoon
A practicing dentist in Singapore, Natalie can speak English, Mandarin as well as Cantonese. She is 25 years of age and loves ballet, Chinese dance, music, yarn craft and yoga. Her environmental advocacy is conscious consumerism. She wants consumers to follow the policy of reuse, reduce and recycle and choose environmentally friendly means to carry out daily activities. She wants to be a positive influence in other people’s lives.
Tanooja Rai
Tanooja is a Marketing and PR VP who specializes in cyber defense and data privacy. She has done her bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from National University and can speak fluently in English, Hindi and Mandarin. Her hobbies include going to the gym and playing netball. Her environmental advocacy is to rise above plastics. She wants to use her PR abilities to be an environmental advocate.
Trinisha Kaur
Trinisha is a pharmacy technician who can speak English, Punjabi and Malay. Her hobbies include singing, watching Netflix and working out. Her environmental advocacy is to recycle which was also her advocacy when she participated in the Miss Universe pageants in 2017. She wants to teach everyone about the importance of the preservation of Earth.
