The organization of Miss Earth Thailand is yet to confirm the new that whether they will be hosting a private ceremony or appointing a representative of Thailand for Miss Earth 2020 stage. Miss Earth Thailand 2019 Nampetch Teeyapar who was placed at the Top 20 of Miss Earth 2019 stage will pass on her crown to her successor soon.
There have been a lot of speculations about Maria Lynn Ehren being an ideal candidate for representing Thailand at Miss Earth 2020 stage. There has been absolutely no confirmation but she makes a potential choice for the title as she is a strong candidate. She is 28-years-old and stands 184 cm tall and has graduated with bachelor's degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands, she later attended Stockholm Business School for her master's degree within Stockholm University, receiving her degree in international business commerce.
When Maria was two years old, her family moved to Vietnam and returned to Thailand when she was seven years old. She started to train for being a beauty pageant queen at the age of 14 under the guidance of Elle Thailand. The diva during her stay at Sweden was working as an English teacher and a disc jockey and later became the head of a marketing committee in the Erasmus Student Network in Rotterdam. She returned to Thailand in 2014 to work for Broadgate Financial, where she advanced to managerial duties in digital marketing.
The diva landed on the Beauty Cover of Vogue Thailand in 2016 and decided to participate at Miss Universe Thailand 2017 where she was one of the fan favourites as she was able to impress everyone with her strong stage presence, communication skills, and confidence. With keeping her mind focused towards the goal, she was able to win the title of Miss Universe Thailand 2017 and earned the opportunity to represent Thailand at Miss Universe 2017 where she finished in the Top 5 at the end of the event finale. She is a volunteer who teaches English at Duang Prateep, a non-profit foundation sponsored by the Thai royal family for children in Thailand.
In 2018, Maria became the guest star in the 4th episode of Asia's Next Top Model (season 6). In February 2019, she became as a mentor of The Face Thailand (season 5) with Toni Rakkaen, Gina Virahya and Bank Anusith. During her stint at Miss Universe Thailand 2017, she had expressed that she wants to work on issues with sexual equality, teen-age pregnancy, proper trash disposal and care for the homeless. With Thailand having the second highest rate of teenage pregnancies in SEA, Maria is passionate about sharing the importance of sex education for the safety and health of teens.
Maria is also concerned about her country’s environment as Thailand is one of the leading SEA countries contributing to trash in the seas. She believes that it will affect the global and national environment, as well as the tourism. Maria aspires to continue to educate and help prevent the two causes that she is most passionate about. She has recently posted a lot of pictures on her social media which indicates that she is very serious about the country’s environment condition and is using her platform to educate and create awareness among the people for the same. In one of her pictures she had posted, “I promise to be more careful with my own consumption, and pick up after other people’s trash. Will you? #YouAreWhatYouTrash.” She has not only posted a picture with a caption but also asked some hard-hitting questions to the government about the trash consumption and dumping on the beach.
The diva has been actively working towards using her platform the right way and creating awareness and making the public aware about the changes one needs to make in order to have a better environment to live. She has started up a challenge on her social media “TrashMeChallenge” where she is encouraging everyone to make sustainable choices rather than the ones that are not recyclable. Maria’s dedication towards the alarming situation in Thailand’s environment has caught everyone’s attention and she has emerged as one of the potential candidates to represent Thailand at Miss Earth 2020 stage where she can use a bigger platform to advocate about her sustainable living advocacy.
Maria is experienced, strong, and focused on things she wants to advocate about and that makes her a potential and strong choice for the title. The organization is still yet to confirm any such speculations but we believe in the advocacy of the queen and would love to see her on-stage and addressing a massive audience with her thoughts.
