Miss Earth Thailand 2021 has officially started as the finale details and schedule of events and activities were announced recently. The national director announced that the finals will be held on 8th August 2021 at DC Hall where Miss Earth Thailand 2020 Teeyapar Sretsirisuvarna will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
As the organization is all set to being with the screening soon, aspiring candidates have already started to send in their applications for a spot. One of the most potential divas who has confirmed her intentions to participate is Baitong Jareerat Petsom.
28 year-old Baitong stands 168 cm tall and an architecture graduate at the King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. She is the Environmental Ambassador for the Green World Foundation and the Sustainable Ocean Ambassador from United States. She is also the founder of a sustainable lifestyle brand called Baanbaan.
Baitong is a pageantry veteran as she has been placed previously as Top 10 Miss Universe Thailand 2017 and Top 20 Miss Universe Thailand 2020. Baitong's intention since going to the Miss Universe Thailand contest has been to make everyone pay attention to the sound of the environment.
Tong wants to speak on behalf of nature. “I want everyone to know, it can't wait. We have to change our behavior. Change the way we live. Saving the world is like helping yourself,” Tong sends out the messages as an environmental ambassador, as someone who lives in this world too.
Tong also believes that the Miss Earth stage will make her voice louder as she says, “Through the beauty pageant I want to use the power of social media that I have and would like to invite people with the same ideology as me to join the team and help push me to stand there.”
Last year, Miss Earth held its first ever virtual show where Miss Earth Thailand 2020 Teeyapar Sretsirisuvarna represented her country at Miss Earth 2020 and placed in the Top 20 with her stellar performance. Baitong’s experience and advocacy jointly make her one of the strongest competitors for the title and a potential candidate to represent Thailand at Miss Earth 2021 as the country is yet to pioneer its win at Miss Earth.
