At the conclusion of the finale of Miss Earth Uruguay 2016 held on 17th September 2016, the representative of Salto Valeria Barrios was crowned as the winner. Valeria succeeds Miss Earth Uruguay 2015 Maria Belen Cabrera, and will now represent the country at the Miss Earth 2016 pageant.

Valeira defeated 12 other gorgeous finalists to clinch the coveted title of Miss Earth Uruguay 2016. Apart from representing Uruguay at the Miss Earth 2016 pageant, Valeria will fulfil her duties as the reigning earth warrior of Uruguay, and carry out her task of environmental awareness, with the core task of planting 20,000 trees in her country.
At the coronation of Miss Earth Uruguay 2016, Micaela Fernández of Montevideo was crowned Miss Uruguay Intercontinental while Wendy Lehmann of Durazno was crowned Miss Uruguay for Reina Internacional del Café. Andrea Reyna of Rio Negro and Eugenia Gallego of Montevideo finished first and second princesses, respectively.
