Corina Zambrano talks about her battle against cancer

22 finalists are vying for the coveted title of Miss Ecuador 2017, the finals of which are scheduled to be held on 22nd April 2017. Amongst the list of the beautiful aspirants for Miss Ecuador 2017 are medical students, communicators, an agriculture engineer, the cabin head for an international airline and a flamenco dancer. One of the contenders for the title, Corina Isabel Zambrano Valderrama talked about her journey so far, revealing her story.

Proudly flaunting her scars, Corina says that she is not embarrassed to show off her scars as she calls it "wounds of war". The scars are of the chemotherapies that she had to undergo when she was 17, when the beauty was diagnosed with tongue cancer. "I was cut off half the language and from there I had to go through a process to learn to speak again," says Corina. Corina also revealed that she never lost hope, as it was her disease that gave her strength and brought her family together.
 
She recalls that she always wanted to live a normal life like everyone else, but life had different plans for her. Her illness made her a matured person way before time. She also revealed that she missed her favourite food during the illness. The tongue cancer had such ill effect on her that after her recovery she had to re-learn speaking and pronouncing. 
 
The beauty is now all recovered and is competing for the prestigious title. She is aware of the tough competition, but that doesn’t stop her from fighting her battle. She also revealed that it was her family who inspired her to participate at beauty pageants. Her main idea behind participation was to contribute her bit to the society. "Being Miss Ecuador is a dream because I believe that from here I will be able to help many people sharing my life experience. I have much to contribute ", she emphasizes.
 
 
Corina reveals that if she wins the title, she will dedicate her time in working with organisation for people suffering from cancer. Do you think Corina Zambrano can be the next Miss Ecuador?
