Miss Ecuador 2020, the 70th edition of the national pageant, began on 17th February 2020 in Portoviejo, Manabi as the official bands were given to the twenty-two delegates who will vie for the chance to represent Ecuador in Miss Universe 2020. The pageant will also a representative to Miss International (usually the first runner-up).

Cristina Hidalgo Miss Ecuador 2019 will crown her successor at the finale which is scheduled to be held on 13th June 2020 at the Las Vegas Park in Portoviejo. This year’s batch of twenty-two ladies boasts of animalists, models, dancers, exreinas, lawyers, economists, health professionals and university students. Last year, Cristina Hidalgo Miss Ecuador 2019 represented Ecuador at Miss Universe 2019 but unfortunately failed to place in the Top 20. Alegría Tobar Cordovéz Miss International Ecuador 2019 also represented her country in Miss International 2019 but failed to win a placement in Top 15.
